Three men were booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail this week on charges of murder and gang activity.

According to the SLO County Sheriff's Office booking log, 21-year-old Gabriel Luis Garay and 21-year-old Nathaniel Alexander Jara were booked the night of August 14th. 28-year-old Robert Joseph Garay was booked shortly after on August 15th.

The son of Daniel Fuentes Sr. tells KSBY these arrests are connected to his father's murder.

Daniel Fuentes Sr., 41, was shot and killed in Oceano just after midnight on April 3, 2019.

Sheriff's officials say he died at a neighbor's home in the 2200 block of Beach St. after knocking on the door and asking for help.

The son says he attended Arroyo Grande High School and Mesa View Community School with Gabriel Garay and Nathaniel Jara.

"We are coming to terms with it," said Daniel Fuentes Jr., son of Daniel Fuentes Sr. "We are getting to a point where we might have to go to court and make sure they get the proper punishment."

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office says investigators have identified suspects in an April homicide in Oceano.

However, they could not confirm names of those suspects.

"We ask that people respect our day to day privacy," said Fuentes Jr. "We are still healing."
