Increasing marine layer at the coast and slightly cooler inland valley temperatures Wednesday

and last updated

Marine low clouds and fog will be fairly widespread Wednesday morning, reaching from the coast to the interior valleys. The fog will lift in the interior and coastal valleys, but the beaches could be slightly stubborn to clear by the afternoon.

A ridge of high pressure to the east of California has weakened and will remain that way through Thursday. As a result, daytime highs for parts, not all, of the interior valleys will cool down Wednesday and be close to the upper 80s.

The coastal valleys will be right around the low to mid-70s and the beaches will be right around the mid-60s. Heading into the weekend, that ridge of high pressure will redevelop and bring warmer daytime highs across the area. It’s possible that the inland valleys could reach triple-digits Saturday and Sunday.
