A couple sideshows caused road disruptions and temporarily blocked a freeway in Sacramento on Saturday, officials said.

KCRA reported the first sideshow happened around 3:50 p.m. in the area of National Drive and North Market Boulevard, involving about 50 cars, Marcus Basquez, a Sacramento Police spokesperson said.

Basquez said police assisted the California Highway Patrol with this sideshow by blocking the on-ramps for Interstate 5. Sideshow participants dispersed when officers arrived.

Hours later, more sideshow participants blocked northbound 1-5 lanes near Florin Road to perform donuts while spectators got out of their vehicles, Basquez said. This caused road closures for about 15 minutes until participants dispersed once again.

Video shows participants blocking the road while they watch vehicles spinning around.

Basquez said officers towed multiple vehicles for participating in the sideshow.

Traffic has since returned to normal.

No other details were released.
