A new hotel is open in San Luis Obispo.
The La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham is located at 1845 Monterey Street, just off Highway 101.
Andrew Firestone, who is the great-grandson of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company founder, had the honor of opening the hotel Thursday.
The former Bachelor founded Santa Barbara-based StonePark Capital, which develops hotels.
He says opening the San Luis Obispo hotel took six years and that the process was lengthy because they wanted to make sure they got it right.
“It was always my goal to build a hotel that fit into San Luis Obispo — that was the fabric of this community. Having been born and raised here on the Central Coast, I knew it was important for the city and the residents that this hotel made sense and was a good representation of this community, and I think it is,” said Firestone.
Firestone says the hotel was designed to fit everyone’s budget and every travelers’ needs.
The hotel has more than 100 rooms, 10 suites, a rooftop wading pool, and an onsite restaurant.
