The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man whose body was found near a vehicle near Lompoc last week.
The sheriff’s office says Maurilio Manzano Gonzalez, 34 of Santa Maria, was found dead near his car in the 5600 block of Santa Rosa Road on Friday.
A passerby had spotted the body around 8:45 that morning and called 911.
Detectives are still actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, which is considered suspicious.
No other information was released.
