The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office says there will be an increased law enforcement presence at Lake Nacimiento over the Memorial Day weekend.
The sheriff’s office says a lot of visitors are expected to visit the lake for boating and camping during the long weekend.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, and Monterey County Park Rangers will be deploying additional patrols on the water and on land from Friday through Monday.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office will take the same enforcement approach at Lake San Antonio.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office released the following safety tips:
- Avoid alcohol when swimming or boating
- Never swim alone
- Don’t go swimming or boating after sunset
- When camping, respect your neighbors and keep music at an acceptable level
- When traveling, always wear seat belts
- Never drink and drive
