The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center is investigating a false report that went out about a tsunami warning Tuesday evening.
The National Weather Service tweeted just before 8 p.m. Tuesday saying there is a fake tsunami message in circulation for a non-existent earthquake in Japan.
The NWS says there is no tsunami threat and it is investigating to determine the source of the false alert.
