Low pressure will keep cool temperatures and chances of intermittent showers over the area into Memorial Day weekend.

Windy conditions in the afternoon and evenings will also continue. A number of wind advisories are in place this evening (SLO county wind advisory, SB county wind advisory) and those winds are also whipping up the swell and there is also a high surf advisory into Thursday. (click on the hyperlinks for details on the advisories)

The current pattern is a cold upper level trough and low pressure that is generally moisture deprived, that is why rain results so far have been meager.

As expected the showers are only producing light rain totals across the area. Here are the latest 24 hour totals as of 2:26pm

Similar potential exists Wednesday morning before some afternoon clearing. Thursday just looks cloudy with some drizzle. Highs in the 60s for most thru Thursday.

Here is what modeling is showing us: more scattered showers Wednesday morning, especially at the coast but some afternoon clearing with some isolated showers. Thursday looks grey and cool.

Snow levels will drop to around 4500, above that a few inches of snow could fall. This is very late in the year to be talking about snow this far south in CA.

Friday looks dry but it is just a small break before the next system comes in later Saturday. Sunday we could see more showers with some lingering cool air for Monday. Not the perfect holiday weekend weather but what falls looks to be light again.
