A new light installation will soon be opening in Paso Robles.

Bruce Munro will unveil his “Field of Light: Sensorio” on May 19.

The 15-acre piece of art uses more than 58,000 stemmed spheres to illuminate the area in bursts of morphing color.

The project is powered by solar energy.

It’s Munro’s first installation to be put on ground that isn’t flat.

The Executive Director of Sensorio says the attraction will feature changes from day to night.

“As soon as the sun starts going down, the lights start coming up, and they’re multi-colored. They change color throughout the evening, and as the sun goes down, they become much more intense,” said Tracy Strann, Executive Director for Sensorio. “Field of Light is very special. It is immersive. It’s interactive and it’s meditative. It’s meant to bring you into your own meditative experience.”
