Three registered sex offenders were arrested Wednesday after a probation and parole compliance operation in San Luis Obispo County.
Authorities contacted registered sex offenders who are on parole and probation throughout the county and in areas including Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Grover Beach, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Nipomo, Oceano, and San Miguel.
34 people were found to be in compliance with the terms of their probation or parole.
Three people were arrested for probation or parole violations.
Authorities arrested Scott Childers, 31 of San Luis Obispo, for a parole violation.
In 2014, Childers was convicted of hiding a camera in his then-13-year-old neighbor’s home in Santa Maria.
Doug Okun, 69 of Arroyo Grande, was arrested for a probation violation.
According to Megan’s Law, Okun was previously convicted of possession of obscene materials that depicted a minor in a sexual act.
Jed John, 25 of San Luis Obispo, was arrested for a probation violation.
No information was immediately available on his past offenses.
The San Luis Obispo County Probation Department and California State Parole conducted the compliance operation with assistance from the Arroyo Grande Police Department, Atascadero Police Department, Morro Bay Police Department, Paso Robles Police Department, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, San Luis Obispo Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
