UPDATE: Suspect in Paso Robles stabbing now in custody

UPDATE (6:36 p.m.) – Paso Robles police say the suspect in Saturday’s stabbing turned himself in on Monday.

No further details were released, but police did confirm he was in custody.

 


 

ORIGINAL STORY (1:53 p.m. ) – Paso Robles police are investigating a stabbing at an apartment complex.

It happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Spring Street at the Presidio Apartments.

Officers arrived at the scene and found one person in the courtyard who had been stabbed in the back.

That person was transported to Sierra Vista Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury.

Investigators say the victim had been drinking with friends in the courtyard when they were approached by someone.

They got into a fight and the victim was stabbed once.

Police identified the suspect at Asiv Mellin, 29, of Paso Robles. Officers say he fled in a light-colored Chevy Silverado.

He is described as being a Hispanic male adult, about 5’11” tall, weighing 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a grey sweatshirt, white shoes, and a green hat.
