The streets and parks in Washington, D.C., are experiencing spring in full bloom as the cherry blossom trees are experiencing the peak of the season.

The flowers are in “peak bloom,” meaning they are fully open.

Experts say blossoms can stay in their peak bloom state for anywhere from four to 10 days.

Organizers of the National Cherry Blossom Festival say the bloom brings in more than 1.5 million visitors to the nation’s capital every year.
