The Hats for Hope Annual Benefit is raising money for Central Coast residents undergoing chemotherapy by giving them a hat, wig or financial support from the proceeds raised at the event.

This year’s Hats for Hope benefit is from 6 p.m. to 10 p .m. at the Monarch Club at Trilogy in Nipomo. Party-goers will bid on several items like vacation packages and group parties at a live auction.

Hats for Hope says they work directly with oncology offices from Paso Robles to Santa Ynez to give wig certificates that are redeemable at local wig shops. The wigs are gifted to people battling cancer in vital and scary times in the patient’s journey.

They say they have given over 7,000 wigs to patients who have lost their hair because of treatment.

Each year Hats for Hope says they give about $20,000 to people in need.
