A woman charged with the death of a man outside a Paso Robles brewery is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a pre-preliminary hearing.

Sarah Hale is charged with killing the man, who police say had tried to stop her from driving under the influence.

Police say the incident happened on December 28, 2018, near Santa Maria Brewing Company in Paso Robles.

Investigators say several of Hale’s friends were trying to stop her from driving, including the victim. Police say he was thrown from the vehicle and hit the pavement in the process.

In February, Hale pleaded not guilty to charges including felony gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent causing injury and leaving the scene of the accident.
