California emergency officials are preparing for the possibility of a tsunami.
March 25 through March 29 has been designated as Tsunami Preparedness Week.
As part of the week, the National Weather Service will conduct a test of the Emergency Alert System and NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards on Wednesday.
The test is expected to take place shortly after 10:15 a.m.
Emergency officials say any coast is vulnerable to tsunamis. People should protect themselves during an earthquake and then go to high ground or head inland and stay there.
The purpose of Tsunami Preparedness Week is to make sure people and organizations know how to prepare for a tsunami and where their tsunami zone is located.
