Santa Barbara County Fire officials say a 59-year-old woman had to be rescued from a Santa Barbara County hiking trail after she broke her ankle.
The call came in just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The woman was about a mile and a half up the trail when she suffered an injury, Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Daniel Bertucelli said.
Fire officials say the injured hiker was hoisted up by helicopter and later taken to a local hospital.
