A Scottish man who authorities believe may have faked his own death in Monterey County last month is now a wanted fugitive for charges of rape and sexual assault.

Kim Gordon, a Scottish citizen, did not show up to his court appointment in Scotland this week. Scottish police say he’s now a wanted man and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The court details that Gordon is also known as “Kim Vincent Avis”, according to an article in The Scottish Sun.

Scottish authorities say he’s wanted for 24 charges of rape, attempted rape, sexual assaults and various other crimes.

Gordon was last seen swimming at Monastery Beach in Monterey County on Monday, Feb. 25. Investigators believe he faked his own death. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. It is unknown if he is still in the country.

KSBY previously reported that Gordon is a known street-trader and performer from the Scottish city of Inverness.

If you have any information regarding Gordon’s whereabouts, please call 911.

Last week the San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s office said a man with an accent who had been going door-to-door offering home repair services, is not the same man.
