Freeze warning issued for parts of SLO, Santa Barbara counties

A freeze warning has been issued for portions of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.

The warning, which goes into effect at 3 a.m. Tuesday and expires at 8 a.m., includes San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Cambria, San Simeon, Santa Maria, Lompoc and Vandenberg.

During the five-hour time frame of the warning, temperatures could fall to between 29 and 32 degrees with some areas dropping to 28 degrees.

The National Weather Service urges protective measures to protect sensitive vegetation and outdoor pets.
