One person was hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash near Refugio State Beach Friday afternoon.
The CHP says the crash happened around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 101 northbound, just south of Refugio.
The CHP says the driver of the vehicle was seen swerving before the crash and eventually went off the highway.
A KSBY viewer sent video of the crash scene, which shows skid marks on the highway. A pickup truck is then seen in the center divider. The person who took the video says the driver of the truck had been thrown from the vehicle but was sitting up.
The CHP wasn’t able to comment on exactly what had happened or the extent of injuries, but confirmed that someone was transported to an area hospital. The CHP also said the vehicle smelled like alcohol when officers arrived on the scene.
Traffic is not blocked in the area.
The crash is under investigation.
