Lompoc police have identified a suspect in a shooting at a gas station Thursday morning and they’re asking for help finding him.

Police announced Friday they’re looking for Deshawn Lee Johnson, 46, who is wanted for attempted murder in connection with the 4:15  a.m. shooting at Conserv Fuel on E. Ocean Avenue and A Street.

Police say they believe the incident is narcotics-related.

Johnson wasn’t home when Lompoc SWAT served a search warrant at an apartment on the 800 block of E. Cypress Thursday afternoon where the van believed to be involved in the shooting was located.

The search came after surveillance video from the gas station showed a man getting out of his car with a bat while a white van pulls up. The man from the car then falls to the ground as shots are fired and the van takes off.  At last check, the victim was said to be in “stable” condition.

During the search, investigators say they seized weapons and multiple items believed to belong to other people. Police say they believe the tools were stolen and traded for drugs.

Police released photos of the items. Anyone who recognizes any of the property as theirs can contact Lompoc police. Proper documentation will be required to retrieve each item.
