In Sausalito Thursday, a mudslide trapped a woman in her home before it slid down a hill during a second day of heavy rain.

Fire officials say the home slid “a good distance” before slamming into another home, which was apparently vacant.

First responders say the woman was “encased in mud” and was pinned within the debris. They were able to make verbal contact with the homeowner before getting her out.

She is said to be in “good condition.”

The mudslide comes after a storm system dumped several inches of rain.

City officials are now assessing whether they need to shore up the hill. Fire officials say gas and power lines were damaged and that at least 50 homes were evacuated a precaution.
