Police: minor checked into ER with stab wounds in Lompoc

UPDATE (10:35 p.m.) – Lompoc Police say a minor with stab wounds checked in to the emergency room of Lompoc Valley Medical Center on Sunday.

Police found the minor to be uncooperative, making it difficult to locate a crime scene or a suspect.

Lompoc Police say they have not determined this to be a gang-related investigation.


ORIGINAL STORY:  Lompoc Valley Medical Center’s CEO posted a statement on Facebook Sunday night, stating the medical center was on lockdown due to a recent stabbing that occurred in town.

By 7:30 p.m., staff says the lockdown was lifted.

According to LVMC CEO Jim Raggio, the victim of the stabbing is being treated in LVMC and staff needed to take action to protect patients and medical staff.
