(12:33 p.m.) – Interstate 5 is closed in both directions over the Grapevine due to snowy conditions, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The closure went into effect at around noon on Monday.
According to Caltrans, snow is falling between Gorman and Lebec.
There’s no word on when the road will reopen.
Highway 58 is usually an alternative route to get around a Grapevine closure; however, the CHP is warning of extremely high winds in that area and several overturned big rigs.
