The City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating its 40th year of the SLO Triathlon.
To celebrate the major milestone, registration for the race will open three months earlier than usual.
Organizers say the early registration will also help people achieve health resolutions they may have made for the new year.
Registration opens on Monday, January 7.
Special celebration pricing will start at $40 for an individual and $80 for relay teams.
The race is set for Sunday, July 28.
