Central Coast Living has a shining history.

KSBY News went to the Chapman Estate in Shell Beach, which has been a beautiful location for parties for 57 years.

Clifford Chapman and his partner, Don Shidler, purchased the estate in 1962. The two hosted parties there before Clifford passed away.

The property was gifted to the City of Pismo Beach to ensure those events still happen today to support the estate.

People KSBY spoke with recommend taking in the sunset right in front of the property.

“I’m sure there are so many stories to tell. We were just walking along the back end thinking because there’s a little walkway to this landing,” said visitor Michelle Carmen Gomez.

“It looks very historical, pretty grand, and I wish I could own it,” said visitor Eric Larsen.

The Chapman Estate is located at 1243 Ocean Boulevard in Shell Beach.

The public can stroll through the gardens and check out the panoramic ocean views.

The gates open for public access Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. from April through October.
