Friday, Dec. 14 is Free Shipping Day. It’s one of the last chances for many major retailers to guarantee your orders will arrive at your doorstep by Christmas Eve.

The day was created more than a decade ago when some retailers collaborated to offer free shipping.
Amazon has extended its free standard shipping offer through Dec. 18.
Some 1,000 retailers are expected to offer free shipping Friday.
Shoppers should check for exclusions to the shipping deal, though. Various retailers will not offer free shipping for large or personalized items.
