UPDATE (6:10 p.m.) – Police identified the homicide victim as Vicente De Jesus Medina Guerrero, 21, of Bakersfield.
Police say next of kin has been notified and the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE (10:53 a.m.) – Police say they are reviewing surveillance footage captured on a camera in the area.
A neighbor tells KSBY the footage showed four men and a truck in the area prior to the shooting. After the shooting, the neighbor says the truck was gone and someone could be seen running.
The victim’s name has not yet been released.
(UPDATE: 3 a.m.) – Santa Maria Police say one person is dead following a shooting in Santa Maria.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Blosser Road and Bunny Avenue.
When officers arrived, they say there was a male who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say the man was pronounced dead on the scene after lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.
The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
This investigation is ongoing as police continue to search for suspects.
