Gas prices fall across nation and California

Gas prices are decreasing across the country and in California.

AAA says for the first time in 18 months, the national gas price average is cheaper right now than it was one year ago.

The current national average for a gallon of regular gas is $2.44.

Experts say cheaper crude oil prices are driving the decrease in prices.

Prices are still the most expensive on the West Coast.

In California, the average price is $3.48. That is the second-highest price in the nation after Hawaii, however, the California average is down eight cents from last week.

Prices on the Central Coast are higher than the California average.

In San Luis Obispo County, the average for a gallon of regular gas is $3.66, according to AAA.

In Santa Barbara County, the average price is $3.49.
