PG&E says the Diablo Canyon Power Plant Unit 2 is back to full power on Wednesday after an electrical disturbance.
The utility said that Unit 2 at the plant in Avila Beach was automatically shut down on December 1 after the grid detected a lower than normal current on the transmission lines, according to a press release. PG&E said that the unit is designed to automatically shut off when it detects a variation in electrical current.
Unit 2 is now operating at 100% capacity. PG&E reported that Unit 1 is operating at 55% power because of maintenance.
