Plans have been revealed for the upcoming Wildflower Experience at Lake San Antonio.
Motiv Group announced Tuesday that Wildflower Experience 2019 will be held from May 3 through May 5. This is the 36th year for the event, which has been dubbed the “Woodstock of Triathlons.”
Organizers say thousands of people participate each year. It’s a three-day festival with athletic events, music, wellness, and outdoor adventures. This year, organizers say there will be three expo venues and a full schedule for triathlon and running events.
There will be two new race categories: Aquabike and Open Water Swim.
Aquabike combines long course swimming and biking. Participants complete a 1.2-mile swim and 56-mile hilly bike ride, and then rack their bikes to continue down the chute to the finish.
The 1.2-mile Open Water Swim race will be held on Sunday.

Wildflower Experience is such an iconic event, but we also recognize that triathlon is not the only way to experience swimming, biking and running. Our new swim events will enable more athletes to participate in the classic Wildflower Experience. Coupled with our stellar line-up of events, we’re confident that this year’s event will be our biggest and most successful yet.”
Attendees can also participate in outdoor yoga sessions, wellness clinics, check out beer gardens, wine tastings, and food trucks.
