The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says a wanted felon was arrested on suspicion of selling drugs near a school.

Detectives say Anthony Guzman, 27, was hiding in the 700 block of N. Miller Street in Santa Maria. While looking for him, detectives say he was seen selling narcotics in front of an elementary school on Friday, November 30. They say it happened around 1 p.m. when class was still in session.

Detectives say Guzman was taken into custody a few hours later near Barrington and Creston.

The Sheriff’s Office says he was searched, and detectives say they found about 61 grams of methamphetamine, some heroin, packaging, a digital scale, and cash. They say this is evidence he was trying to sell narcotics.
