Central Coast residents are coming together to bring some holiday cheer to people affected by the Camp Fire in Butte County.

The Chameleon Style of Arroyo Grande and The Sewing Café of Pismo Beach are teaming up to make 1,000 Christmas stockings for victims of the Camp Fire. They are also encouraging people to bring $15 to $20 gift cards to help fill each stocking. Ideally, they say they want at least 3 gift cards or more per stocking.

They start sewing Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Chameleon Store. They hope to finish all the stocking and send them up to Paradise on Dec. 9.

Organizers say they encourage anyone to come, even if they can’t sew to help out. For those wanting to help who can sew, they say to bring their sewing machine, if they have one, if not people can use one of the six sewing machines they have.

Anyone who wants to donate a gift card can drop them off at the Sewing Cafe located next to California Fresh Market in Pismo Beach.
