Two men have been arrested and a third is on the run after Lompoc Police officers say the three were seen breaking into an empty and recently evicted apartment.

Shortly after 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Lompoc Police officers said that they were called to an apartment at 500 N. U Street. Officers said they saw someone come down the stairs before running off.

Javier Guerrero, 21, and Joshua Hawk, 20, were detained inside, officers said. They were arrested on suspicion of trespassing and carrying a concealed stolen loaded firearm. The gun was previously reported stolen at a motel in Arroyo Grande in May.

Officers searched the apartment, but they could not tell if anything had been stolen as it was already empty. The apartment management was contacted and said that the two men were unknown to them.

Officers did not give a detailed description of the third suspect.
