The annual Thanksgiving Lunch in Lompoc was a success.

The lunch is held at La Purisma Catholic Church in Lompoc. It’s put on by a group of churches, which prepare and serve the meals to members of the community.

Organizers say the event is tailored towards people who are alone, who have lost loved ones, those who can’t afford their own meal, or anyone who wants to enjoy their Thanksgiving meal with a group of people. The goal is to make sure no one is alone or hungry on the Thanksgiving holiday.

“The people that come to volunteer, they get that feeling in their hearts of giving to others, and the people that come to eat, they get that feeling of love from us to them as well,” said Doreen Ross, President of Lompoc Valley Community Kitchen.

Those who attended were given a feast with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberries, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, and apple pie.

76 “meals on wheels” were delivered to people who weren’t able to make it to the event.
