The DMV will be busier than normal around the Thanksgiving holiday.
The agency says two of the busiest days at DMV field offices in California are the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Monday after the holiday.
The DMV said customers should check to see if they can get the services they need online before going into a field office.
Californians can use the DMV website to renew a driver license or ID card, change their address, pay vehicle registration fees, complete a notice of transfer and release of liability, order personalized license plates, and request a driver or vehicle record.
The DMV says 62 field offices, including San Luis Obispo, will be open on the first three Saturdays in December to provide expanded service options for customers.
DMV offices are closed from Thursday, November 22 through Sunday, November 25 for the holiday.
