Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office identifies 3 students suspected of stealing from Lompoc schools

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office identified the three Cabrillo High School students suspected of stealing items from several schools in Lompoc.

The sheriff’s office said over the past two months they investigated several burglaries at Lompoc schools including Buena Vista Elementary School, Cabrillo High School and Maple High School.

When investigators identified the three people suspected of these burglaries they contacted the parents and with their consent searched their child’s rooms.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said almost all of the stolen items were recovered in each of the student’s homes.

In all the stolen property mainly consisted of laptops. The stolen items have an estimated value of approximately $5,000.

The juveniles were contacted at the school and released to their parents.

The case is still under investigation. When it is complete it will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
