A vigil to remember the victims of this week’s deadly shooting in Thousand Oaks is set to take place Friday evening in Isla Vista.
According to the Facebook event page “Vigil for Borderline Bar & Grill Tragedy,” it’s happening from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Isla Vista Love & Remembrance Garden in People’s Park, 975 Embarcadero del Norte.
“Join us as we stand in solidarity with those who have been affected by the Borderline Bar&Grill tragedy in Thousand Oaks. There will be speakers and opportunities for people to also express their feelings and thoughts. We will be providing candles but we invite you to provide your own also,” according to the event page.
A dozen people were killed in the shooting at a country music bar. Authorities believe the gunman ultimately killed himself.
Another vigil planned at Cal Lutheran Friday afternoon has been postponed due to the fires burning nearby. The campus is currently closed.
