A section of Highway 1 through Big Sur will be closed overnight for two nights next week as a retaining wall undergoes emergency repairs.
Caltrans said that both directions of Highway 1 at Paul’s Slide near Limekiln State Park will be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday and from 10 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
A landslide closed that section of the road for several months after heavy rain in January 2017. The section of the road remains an active slide that continues to be monitored, Caltrans said.
John Madonna Construction has been selected as the contractor for the project.
