McWay Cove One Skid Rescue

We previously shared a snippet of this rescue video, but with this video you'll get to see much more of the rescue, including the technical competence of our pilot as he held the aircraft completely steady with only a small portion of the left skid touching the rock. This was enough for our paramedic to get out and walk the victim to the aircraft and ultimately to safety.

The CHP released video this week after a helicopter rescue in Big Sur.

A man got stranded while trying to find his drone on Sunday afternoon in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. The video shows the man stuck on a cliff over the ocean.

CHP released the video Wednesday showing the first responders’ perspective. The video shows a “skid rescue” operation. Responders are seen hovering a helicopter over a narrow cliff, grabbing the man, and pulling him to safety.

Witnesses say his drone fell over the side of the cliff, and he tried to climb down to get it but became trapped.

He was not injured, but CHP says he was cited for the incident.
