A haunted house that promises one of the most terrorizing experiences on the Central Coast is back.

The Haunt in Atascadero features 17 different rooms with each one designed to frighten. This year, The Haunt is themed as an abandoned toy factory.

The entire experience is designed with the intent to scare adults. Organizers recommend that those 12 years and older can go through The Haunt, though some lights-on tours for children are scheduled for select days.

Unlike larger haunted houses where people file through at a leisurely pace, organizers say crowds are limited so that the surprises ahead aren’t spoiled.

“I try and limit groups to about four people so that way, when you go down, you don’t have anyone to give away what’s coming,” said organizer Chris Towers.

The Haunt is open every Friday and Saturday as well as Oct. 30 and 31. Find more information on The Haunt in Atascadero website.
