Central Coast Living: Visit miniature horses for free in Solvang

A miniature horse ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley could soon be no more. That’s why owners are encouraging locals to visit them before the property changes hands.

Quicksilver Miniature Horse Ranch is a perfect spot for a weekend outing with the family. It’s open every day (except Sunday) for tours and opportunities to meet their mini horses.

The ranch is not a petting zoo and you cannot ride the horses either, but you are able to be up close with some of the finest thoroughbred miniature horses in the West.

Nera Learner was visiting the Central Coast from New York City and had been given multiple recommendations to visit Quicksilver Ranch.

“I would love to take [a mini horse] home and start my own ranch,” Learner said.

Employees say the ranch is currently for sale and it’s unknown whether the next owner will keep the horses.

Quicksilver Miniature Horse Ranch is located at 1555 Alamo Pintado Rd. in Solvang.

The ranch is open to the public for free Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
