The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing suspended Chris Berdoll’s teaching license, after receiving a court report of the charges against him.

Berdoll is facing 44 charges relating to making and possessing child pornography.

Berdoll is a former teacher at the Atascadero Fine Arts Academy. He was arrested in August, after police identified multiple young victims related to his case.

The school board voted to take him off of paid administrative leave in early October. Berdoll is currently out on bail and is due back in court October 18th.

A spokesperson for the Commission on Teacher Credentialing said if he is convicted or pleads guilty to the charges, his credentials will be automatically revoked.
