UPDATE (1:21 p.m.) – A man who has been named a person of interest in his father’s murder in 2009 was arrested on Sunday in connection with a DUI crash.
The CHP said that Brian Greer, 51, was driving westbound on Creston Road and El Pomar Road east of Templeton around 8:20 p.m. when he made an unsafe turn and crashed into another car. Greer and the two people in the other car were both taken to Twin Cities Hospital for moderate injuries.
Greer was then arrested for being under the influence at the time of the crash. He is in the San Luis Obispo County Jail. His bail has been set at $100,000.
Greer’s father, Jerry Greer, was found shot to death in his home in Templeton on March 28, 2009. His death was ruled a homicide. Brian Greer was named a person of interest in the case in August. A search warrant was issued for Brian Greer’s home.
Greer told KSBY News in an earlier interview that he believes he is innocent.
“I had nothing to do with my dad’s murder. I had nothing to do with my dad’s murder,” Greer said in an August interview.
The CHP is investigating Sunday’s crash, and The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Greer’s murder. The Sheriff’s Office said Monday that the murder investigation is still active, but there are no new updates.
