September is Cocktail Month in San Luis Obispo County.
More than a dozen bars across the county are participating in a cocktail competition. They’re trying to create the best cocktail, and the community gets to vote on the winners.
The drinks are made with locally distilled spirits. The community has until September 30 to vote. You get to choose your top three favorite cocktails.
“I really like the fact that it draws us all together. It brings a lot of awareness to all the work we put in, and all the local distilleries, all the local farmers. It really drives people together, and that competitiveness to put your best foot forward and work really hard on things like that, and that’s what we do all the time,” said Cassie Runyan, the bar manager at Novo.
The winner will be announced at a Grand Cocktail Event on October 6.
