Two electric scooter companies have shown interest in operating in San Luis Obispo but for now, no electric scooters are coming to the area.
The City of San Luis Obispo’s Active Transportation Manager, Adam Fukushima, says representatives from Bird met with the city on Tuesday.
After receiving a presentation about how the business works and the service it provides, the city came to the conclusion that the business model does not conform to city policies.
Fukushima says Lime is the other company expressing interest.
He says if one of these services were to come to the city, there would be a public outreach process and several businesses and residents would have input.
