The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County (SLO Food Bank) matching challenged ended Saturday, but the organization reached it’s goal days before the deadline.

SLO Food Bank announced a matching challenge in June as an anonymous donor agreed to match every dollar donated by the public up to $50,000.

On Thursday the food bank reached their goal.

Kevin Drabinski CEO of the Food Bank Coalition said the generous donations show people’s vision to provide food to people throughout the county.

"Everybody should have something healthy to eat every day, without exception, everyone should have something healthy to eat every day," said Drabinksi.

He said he is happy the SLO Food Bank is able to be the center of the network that provides those opportunities.

The name of the donor has not been revealed.
