The Allan Hancock College board approved a new police chief Tuesday night.
Cathy Farley will take over for Chief Paul Grohowski. The board voted unanimously to approve her hiring during its board meeting.
Allan Hancock’s superintendent announced last month that Chief Grohowski was resigning and thanked him for his time with the department. Christ Nartatez, formerly of the Santa Maria Police Department, had been serving as interim police chief.
Cathy Farley currently serves as the UC Santa Barbara Police Department’s assistant chief.
