A wildfire that broke out in the Tahoe National Forest on Monday is forcing evacuations at three campgrounds west of Lake Tahoe.
The fire started in the area of the North Fork campground in Emigrant Gap and was named the "North Fire."
As of 5 p.m., the fire had grown to 200 acres, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, which described the fire as "aggressive."

The North Fork Campground, Onion Valley Campground and Tunnel Mills Campground on Texas Hill Road were being evacuated, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies also asked drivers to avoid Interstate 80 through the area because of heavy traffic.
