Grover Beach city leaders will celebrate the ground-breaking of an expansion project of the train station Tuesday.
The project will expand the existing Amtrak train station site to include a bus loading and unloading area as well as 40 additional parking spaces. Construction starts Wednesday.
The project aims to make the station safer and more convenient for travelers at the south county’s only train station with direct connections to San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles and San Diego on the Pacific Surfliner.
