Stores, 24-hour gym proposed for former K-Mart site in Arroyo Grande

Posted

The city of Arroyo Grande will consider approving a permit for new retail and commercial space in the empty space where K-Mart used to occupy in Arroyo Grande.

City officials will consider a conditional use permit, a 4,500 square-feet commercial addition, and then a proposal to divide the space in three for a grocery store, a retail store, and a 24-hour gym establishment.

The grocery store also applied for a permit for adult beverage sales, specifically selling beer, wine and distilled spirits.

The K-Mart building has been vacant since April after going out of business.

No word yet on what companies specifically these establishments will be under, but the agenda item lines out more on the proposal.

The meeting to discuss the change will be Tuesday, Aug. 20.
